Our Story

Every expatriate community starts the same way: a few families, a shared origin, and the realisation that meeting on purpose beats meeting by accident. ANRIA Qatar began among families from Angamaly and its neighbouring panchayats who had made Doha their home, and who wanted their children to know each other.

Our goal is to provide a platform for our members to connect, engage, and grow together as a community. By organising social, cultural, sports, recreational, charitable and community activities, we strive to strengthen bonds among members and promote a supportive network where everyone feels valued and empowered.

Today the association runs a year-round calendar — Onam celebrations and stage shows, badminton and chess tournaments, winter gatherings, blood donation camps and anniversary nights. Through all of it we aim to create lasting memories and strengthen the ties that bind us.

Vinod Kumar

As President, Vinod provides the association's overall direction and oversees its day-to-day functioning, working to ensure members have access to enriching experiences and a supportive network.

Sunanda Haridas

Sunanda works alongside the President to put the year's plans into practice and to coordinate activities across the association's programmes.

Joy supports the association's strategic initiatives and helps carry them through, with a focus on keeping members involved and connected to one another.

Vinayak Mohan

Vinayak leads the administrative side of the association — maintaining its records, handling correspondence and keeping internal communication flowing.

Ringu works with the Secretary on records, correspondence and the coordination that keeps meetings and events running to plan.

Dan looks after the association's finances — planning for the year's activities and keeping its accounts organised and transparent to members.

Community First

Decisions are made by the membership at open meetings, not handed down. The association belongs to the families in it.

Chess challenges and badminton squads that give members a reason to compete, travel and turn out for each other across the Qatar sporting calendar.

Hospital visits, bereavement support and practical help, offered discreetly and without any requirement of membership.
